Electronics Engineer (Product Development)

Encounter exciting design and development challenges daily: From improving our current products, to rapidly scaling our control system technologies. At first, we will provide you training to become familiar with our products, and to enable you to maintain and add new features to the existing products. Your first project will be to improve and develop technologies to support our existing hardware platform. In addition to providing internal hardware support, we will leverage your electronic engineering expertise to further advance Argus’ products.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of electronics for industrial instrumentation and process control systems
  • Plan material cost, time estimates, and design specifications
  • Design, develop and test, analog/digital electronics for industrial instrumentation and process control systems
  • Implement and maintain PCB design files and bill of materials
  • Develop external manufacturing and circuit assembly procedures and work instructions
  • Conduct verification and validation tests during the product development stage
  • Implement and maintain design documentation and test records
  • Assist in planning, design and development of mechanical assemblies and equipment
  • Assist with the development of product datasheets and manuals
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and control systems failures
  • Comply and conduct product tests in-accordance to relevant standards



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years industry electronics engineering experience
  • Minimum completion of a bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering, or technology (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge and experience with PADS PCB design software
  • Broad knowledge of analog/digital design, and instrumentation and control system theory and practice
  • Must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of completed projects
  • Ability to critically assess and optimize the cost and performance of designs
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with EMC compliance testing & safety standards
  • Experience with all phase of product development (concept, design, implementation, deployment, and support)
  • An aptitude for understanding the design of large systems and the impact of changes
  • Experience in testing, and troubleshooting with pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Must have clear oral and written English communication skills

  • UL 508A, CSA C22.2 No. 14, IEC 61010
  • FCC and CE
  • Canadian and US electrical codes.
  • ISO 9001:2008
  • Control systems for protected horticulture environments
