Multi-Feed Nutrient Injection Systems
Argus has been providing custom nutrient control applications for over 25
years. We’ve designed the controls and related dosing equipment for hundreds of
installations ranging from dilute tank to in-line systems, and from A+B style
injectors to complete single element dosing systems. Now we’ve combined this
experience to design an elegant and compact new line of injectors, the Argus
Multi-Feed Series.

These new injectors are fully compatible with your existing Argus Control
system and can be scaled to fit almost any nutrient control application. When
ordering an Injector system, you can specify the number of feeds you require
(single, A+B, or multi-head) and the output capacity ranging from a few gallons
to many thousands of gallons per minute.
Multi-Feed systems are safe, accurate, and easy to operate since they are
controlled by your Argus system. You get all the advantages of Argus’ proven
nutrient control technology including monitoring, alarms, data recording, remote
control, and full integration with your irrigation system.
The Multi-Feed Advantage
- Uses proven Argus Feed-Forward control intelligence for fast response
and the highest dosing accuracy and safety
- Engineered to your specifications (single head, A/B, or multi-head
options)
- Ideal for pressurized in-line or dilute tank applications
- Low residual volumes for efficient feed switching
- Excellent mixing at all system flow rates
- High turndown models are available
- Works with a wide range of stock concentration strengths
- No additional pumps required - works with your system pump
- Works with system pressures from 15-75 psi
- Few moving parts - made from simple, high quality components
- Compact, easy-to-install, wall mountable design
- Easy to operate - controlled by your Argus system. Uses standard
monitoring, alarms, and nutrient control programs
- Positive isolation of stock solutions to prevent accidental siphoning
Installation Ease
- Compact
- Self-contained
- Can be ‘tapped’ into your existing piping
- Easy to mount ‘hang-on-the-wall’ design

The system schematic shows a typical high volume ‘A/B’ style Multi-Feed
system designed for high turndown, and multiple feed selection. The main
components come preassembled in a compact, wall-mountable cabinet for ease of
installation. In this example, multiple metering valves are used to better match
injection rates to a wide range of flows.
Multi-Feed systems use one or more venturi injectors to draw selected
fertilizer concentrates into the mixing line. The motive flow needed to operate
the system can be provided by your existing irrigation pump or a separate
booster pump. Metering valves are used to provide the correct amount of
concentrate for the current flow rate. For growers who need to feed different
recipes with the same dosing unit, automatic feed selection of up to 4 separate
feeds is available.
An Argus controller operates the fertilizer selection and metering valves and
measures all sensor inputs. Unlike other nutrient injection systems, both the
concentrate volume and the injection rate can be adjusted to suit the current
rate of flow. This provides smooth dosing, even at very low flow rates. It also
helps to eliminate the ‘striping’ problems that can occur with other systems.
Venturi injectors naturally provide excellent mixing, and the system is designed
so that the system pump provides additional mixing before the final mixture is
released to the crop.
Each Multi-Feed System is equipped with visual flow indicators and pressure
gauges, as well as an array of electronic sensors including EC, pH, temperature,
and pressure. These sensors are used for control optimization, safety
monitoring, and comprehensive diagnostics.
Multi-feed injectors can be used for in-line applications and dilute tank
filling. You can specify configurations for recirculation, feed selection
between multiple concentrates, and integrated pH control.
Built to Fit Your Existing System
In many cases your existing irrigation system pump can be used to provide the
motive flow to operate the Multi-Feed system, as shown in the diagram below. The
unit typically requires about 20% of your irrigation system capacity operate. In
instances where your existing pump is not available or lacks capacity, we can
supply an independent booster pump. A flow meter mounted in the main line of
your irrigation system measures the current rate of system flow. This is used to
calculate the correct amount of concentrates to inject at any flow rate.
Optional guard sensors located downstream can be used to provide an additional
measure of safety.
