Relay Control Panels
Argus has a very flexible system for building custom
relay control panels to match your specific requirements. We provide
custom-built CUL/UL approved line voltage interface panels in both
DIN rail and standard modular configurations to suit your requirements. The Argus Interface Module
System (AIMS) is a unique modular system designed to
interface line voltage (110 volt and over) equipment with low voltage (24
volt) control signals. AIMS relay panels are easy to specify, order, and
install.

Combined PanelsCustom designed CUL/UL approved combination panels are
now available that can include:
-
control hardware modules
-
power distribution
-
line voltage interfacing
Both DIN rail and Argus standard module configurations
can be designed.
- Argus Combination Panel
Applications
Argus line voltage interface modules are used wherever line voltage
loads must be switched by the control system. Each panel is custom
configured to the specific design loads and output equipment applications.
Alternatives
Local electrical contractors may also supply line voltage panels.
Other types of control equipment and mounting configurations include DIN
rail, integrated relay, and PCB modules. All can be supplied by Argus. Low
voltage switching devices (i.e. 24 VA solenoids, mixing valves, etc.) do
not require line voltage interfacing. They can be operated directly by
Argus output modules.
Features
-
Cost
Effective - we select reliable, compact, cost-effective
CSA and UL approved components and overloads from manufacturers who
are industry leaders in both technology and service. Completed panels
are CSA inspected and approved.
-
Standardized
- a standard selection of modules are used to handle typical
greenhouse load applications: 95% of all loads in a greenhouse require
no more than 240 volts and 1 HP for single phase loads, and 240 volts
and 5 HP for three phase loads.
-
Prewired - line and low voltage sides are pre-wired to
appropriate terminal strips. Neutral bus is installed.
-
Modular - our systems are packaged as complete modules including
components, terminal blocks, overloads, and diagrams, thereby
eliminating the custom assembly costs of a "one-off" design
(i.e. built from scratch).
-
Custom
Drawings - Argus provides detailed wiring diagrams of
each panel to assist with installation and troubleshooting.
-
Data
Pocket - high-impact thermoplastic data pocket is
conveniently located on the door's interior surface to hold Argus shop
drawings and other important documents.
Easy to Install
-
standard
mounting system allows easy factory or field installation.
-
completed
panels are delivered ready to mount.
-
detailed
wiring diagrams of modules, device loads, and wiring terminations are
provided.
-
pre-wired terminals are labeled to
show required field connections.
Technical Specifications
Argus Interface Panels are custom configured to your specifications.
Typical applications are shown in the table to the left along with Argus
module types. These modules can be grouped into many sizes of enclosures
to suit your requirements.
Hardware Installation
Argus panels must be installed by a licensed
electrician. Detailed wiring diagrams, such as the one shown to the
left, are provided to assist the installer.
Argus Panel Modules
Argus modules are expertly designed to handle a variety of
applications and equipment, such as multiple fan staging, reversing motor
controls, HID lighting, heat control valves, and motor starters.
All modules are labeled, and
detailed CAD drawings are provided to assist the installer with mounting
and field wiring.
Enclosures
NEMA 4 enclosures are typically used for applications. Argus
selects watertight and dust-proof enclosures constructed from quality 14
AWG steel with continuously welded seams.
Argus modules can be mounted in standard 20" wide
and 36" wide (dual-column configuration as shown above) enclosure of
a 8" depth. Argus panels consist of specified modules mounted in a
NEMA 4 enclosure. Panels are prewired and are shipped ready
to mount.
