Microsoft® Windows Vista™
and Argus® - Compatibility Guide
Microsoft has recently released Windows Vista, its next generation operating
system. Included with Windows Vista are many security related changes which can
affect the performance of software which was fully functional under Windows XP
and Windows 2000. As with each new release of an operating system, there is an
initial period of flux, during which there might be noticeable problems with the
operating system, as well as incompatibility with existing hardware. Argus
recommends taking a cautious approach to adopting Windows Vista, so that these
instabilities can be avoided. To prepare however, we have been testing the
interoperability of Argus and Windows Vista, so that we can make the transition
as seamless as possible for our customers.
Because of the way Windows
Vista changes how software programs interact with the operating system, some
versions of Argus have been affected, while others have not. In order to
properly describe the issues relevant to the version of the Argus software that
